Congratulations to our newest brothers, the Alpha Xis!

Alpha Epsilon Pi has made huge strides in its community service and philanthropic efforts this fall term. In addition to holding not just more, but new community service events, we beat our own records with our three big philanthropies. This Fall term we had our second annual AEPi in Your Eye event. As people walked by our booth at the statue of Mario the dragon, students and adults alike stopped to participate. For only one dollar, a person could throw a pie in the face of an AEPi brother for a good cause. All of the money we donated for this event went to the Save Darfur Coalition, which does all it can to provide humanitarian aid to the people of Darfur being unfairly persecuted and in many cases, killed. In our first year of running AEPi in Your Eye, we raised over $400. In our second year, we set our goal high at $1,000 and are well on our way of working towards it! We are always working to make the event even larger next year so that our donation can benefit more people. Every month we participate in the Jewish Relief Agency in Northeast Philadelphia. The purpose of this organization is to provide food for people in the Northeastern region of Philadelphia who are in great need and do not have the means to get enough food for their families otherwise. The Jewish Relief Agency started in 2000 with 19 families and now helps provide food to over 2,000 families in the area. This year we were also able to participate in the Jewish Relief Agency’s Food expo, an event where the agency attracts sponsors to help provide food for upcoming delivery dates. While there, brothers ran a special Gift of Life booth. Gift of Life is a bone marrow donor program that seeks to provide patients in need of bone marrow with their compatible match to help them survive. We have held successful Gift of Life drives on campus before, and this drive was no exception with well over 2,000 possible donors in attendance. Lastly, but certainly not least, Alpha Epsilon Pi participated in the Philabundance Campout For Hunger program. Each year, brothers donate money they have towards collecting non-perishable goods for families in need. After collecting money, brothers then get together and go purchase the food and deliver over 1,200 pounds of food to the Philabundance organization. Over the last few years, we have also set up a unique deal with our alumni in that they match how much money we donate towards Philabundance. This Fall, we were able to raise over $700 towards the Campout For Hunger! -- Brian Saunders - President
